Coffee, Tea or Me?, Surry Hills

Coffee, Tea or Me?

How was it?
Food: 8.5/10
Service: 7/10
Ambience: 8/10
Value: $

Before going to the Surry Hills Festival last Saturday, Miss LV, Miss Toronto and I headed to Crown St for a quick bite to eat. I did a bit of research and stumbled upon this little cafe. I had chosen it purely based on it's name (how cute is it?). Turns out, Miss LV is a frequent customer and even has an insider there.

The cafe has a tiny little corner space on Crown St. Inside there are two tables and along the window there is a bench as well as a few tables outside. You can either get take-away or eat in. We opted to eat in and when I saw an empty table inside, I pretty much went to claim our territory straight away :)

Chai Latte

Miss LV and I ordered Chai latte's to start things off. They were so smooth. A mixture of sweet and spicy flavours. One word = perfect.

Miss Toronto's Tea

How pretty is the teacup and saucer?

Ham, Cheese, Tomato Croissant w/Dijon Mustard $5.50

Warm, buttery and flaky. Just the way a croissant should be. The dijon mustard really was a fantastic addition to this simple croissant.

Roast chicken baguette $8.50

Inside the crusty white baguette was thirlmere free-range chicken, lemon tarragon, mayonnaise and mixed leaves. The combination was fantastic. I was craving this baguette the day after.

The Pros:
- Freshly made baguettes
- Skillfully brewed teas/coffees
- Cheap

The Cons:
- It would probably be hard to get a seat inside (we were very lucky)
- Service was a bit slow, however everything is freshly made, so practice patience

Overall:
A great little cafe in Surry Hills. I will definitely go again. It's a great place to grab a coffee or tea and read the paper, catch up with friends or watch the world go by. The food was delicious and the Chai Latte is a must.

  7. Hi Lorraine: Yes, the name is so cute isn't it? It's pretty small, but definitely a great find.

Hi Smileona: Haha. I didn't think they were that great in terms of fashion, some of the accessories were cool though, but there was a lot of food! It's alright, there's always next year! And yeah, the chicken was 'special' - organic, and quite generous indeed!
