Doyle's Fisherman's Wharf Takeway, Watsons Bay

How was it?
Food: 8/10
Service: 6/10
Ambience: 7/10
Value: $

My good friend Smurf and I decided to be tourists in our own city for a day! It was great fun to take in our beautiful harbour, as sometimes we can forget how fortunate we are to live in such an awesome city! So, as we ferry hopped around Sydney Harbour we arrived at Doyle's Fisherman's Wharf Takeaway in Watsons Bay for lunch. It immediately looked appealing, and the long line proved that it must be popular!

Seafood Basket $17.20
Fried fish, calamari, prawns, scallops and chips

We were pretty hungry when we were on our way to Watsons Bay, so we picked up some wedges from Circular Quay for the ride. Lol :D So we weren't very hungry when we arrived at Doyle's and we decided to share the seafood basket.

Includes 2 small tubs of sauce - tartare sauce and chilli plum sauce

You have to order from the counter at the front and wait for your number to be called, which was roughly 7 minutes for us. Afterwards, just grab a seat wherever you want. There is a large dining room for indoor seating with big windows overlooking the water, perfect for a chilly winters' day, and there's also outdoor seating for the few lucky ones who can nab it.

My camera getting foggy from the steam!

Fried Fish Fillets

Mmm... yum

Calamari

The seafood basket was the perfect choice for us as we got to sample a little bit of everything. I loved the perfectly fried and moist fish fillets. The calamari was also a winner, without being too chewy, like you can get at some places. So much oily goodness! We stayed in the dining room, slowly pecking at our goodies before boarding the next ferry!

A look inside the dining room:

And from the outside:

Overall:
The seafood was fresh and tasty, however you can't really go too wrong with fried seafood, can you?! Doyle's is a great place to pick up some seafood on the go or to laze about and enjoy the afternoon looking at all the boats that you will one day own. Haha. Doyle's is easily accessed via ferry, or alternately you can drive or catch a bus and train.

P.s. We ended our day at Luna Park, Milsons Point and picked up some ice creams :) There's a Happy Hour on from 1pm - 2pm, where you can get an extra scoop for free! Unfortunately, we missed it, but make sure you don't!
